The personalized and targeted approach:

College and Career Compass is a boutique-style educational consulting practice. Here, I offer individually curated and highly personalized services for students looking for direction after high school. My practice is intentionally small, with no more than 15 students per application cycle to ensure focused connections and student success. As your personal guide, I aim to ease your anxiety and build your self-confidence for the next phase of your journey.

CONNECTION

At our first meetings, we will get acquainted with timelines and plan academic and extracurricular goals. We will review transcripts and coursework, discover aptitudes and interests, and begin to develop a path for the future. Guidance includes:

Academic Analysis: Review transcript to understand academic performance and plan future coursework and standardized testing.
Aspirations Assessment: Discover goals and aspirations using aptitude, personality, learning style and interest assessments.
Extracurricular Planning: Compile a list of achievements and generate ideas for future extracurricular engagements.
Resume Development: Assist students in creating a comprehensive and professional resume.

EXPLORATION

Once we have built a foundation, I will work with your student to research colleges that match their needs, wants, strengths and interests. Together we will create a curated list of schools and begin to narrow the choices. Guidance includes:

Personalized Discovery: Research and development of matching schools to students’ criteria, personality, and talents.
Investigation Instruction: Dashboard in College Planner Pro and other high end research tools are provided for the most in-depth and comprehensive search of schools around the country.
List Development: A customized collection of “right-fit” schools is established, including planning for college visits with tools for getting the most out of each tour.
Essay Exploration and Expansion: Brainstorm and develop the best essay from chosen prompts and find student voice to make it shine.

APPLICATION AND DECISION

High school seniors are often juggling classes, homework, and many activities. This time can feel overwhelming to manage and maintain. In this phase, students complete the application process with connection and support so they will feel confident in their final package. Guidance includes:

Application Management: Customized timeline of all tasks and deadlines including identifying Early Action/Early Decision strategies.
Cost Analysis: Exploration of financial and merit aid opportunities.
Comprehensive Essay Support: Review and refine essays to showcase unique experiences and talents.
Acceptance Review: Guidance in handling waitlist decisions and comparing financial packages.

Students and families receive access to a personalized portal account for specific and proprietary information, communication, research, and planning tools.
